Authors publishing with AOSIS OpenJournals journals retain the copyright to their work. The Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY) allows articles to be freely downloaded from the journal websites, and also allows articles and data to be reused and redistributed without restriction, as long as the original work is correctly cited.

Open Archives Initiative AOSIS OpenJournals fully supports the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) metadata harvesting protocol. The OAI develops and promotes interoperability standards that aim to facilitate the efficient dissemination of content. OAI has its roots in the open access and institutional repository movements.

CrossRef - DOI AOSIS OpenJournals is a member of CrossRef, the official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) assigning agency for scholarly and professional publishers. We assign a DOI to each of our articles to serve as a permanent Internet address, to allow linking from a reference citation from one platform to another, and to enable Cited-by Linking (see below).

CrossRef - Cited-by Linking All references of articles published by AOSIS OpenJournals are submitted to CrossRef for registering with the DOI assigned to the article.
